Rams for Life Scholarships

RAMS FOR LIFE ALUMNI
SCHOLARSHIP

Rams for Life Alumni Association, formed in 2022, helps young RAMs maintain a high standard of academic and athletic excellence through our gifts and advice, and provides a formal structure for the ongoing development of relationships between all Rams throughout the school's history. Rams for Life offers a scholarship that awards one (1) $500 scholarship to an individual graduating from Sir Wilfrid Laurier highschool that will be attending post-secondary education.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Rams for Life Scholarship may be applied for by any individual who has attended and graduated from Sir Wilfrid Laurier highschool. The applicant must be enrolled as a full- or part-time student in a college or university program during the upcoming academic year.

APPLICATION:

​All submissions must include your full name, mailing address, email address, a written response to the essay question, including a letter of confirmation or acceptance into a college or university program, and a copy of the most recent high school transcript. Scholarship applications and supporting documentation must be submitted electronically to info@ramsforlife.ca. Deadline is May 1.
 

WRITTEN REQUIREMENTS:

As part of the scholarship submission, the student must submit a written response to the question: "What does being part of the Rams Family mean to you, and how will you carry those lessons into the future as an alum?”. Your response is to be a maximum of 1000 words, must be double-spaced, using a 12-point font, with one-inch margins, and must be written by you (not AI tools).

THE TERRY WILLIAMS RAMS FOR LIFE TRADES SCHOLARSHIP

Since its formation in 2022, the Rams for Life Alumni Association has been dedicated to empowering student success and strengthening the bonds between Rams—past, present, and future. The Terry Williams Rams for Life Trades Scholarship awards one (1) $1000 scholarship to an individual graduating from Sir Wilfrid Laurier highschool that will be attending post-secondary education in the trades (school/apprenticeship).

The Rams for Life Scholarship may be applied for by any individual who has attended and graduated from Sir Wilfrid Laurier highschool. The applicant must be enrolled as a full- or part-time student in a college or apprenticeship program during the upcoming academic year.

JUDGING:

Eligible scholarship submissions will be reviewed and judged by the Scholarship Review Committee of the Board of Directors. Rams for Life reserve the right to verify the accuracy of submissions, and their decision is final. Only the successful candidate will be notified of their award.

 

Each written submission will be evaluated based on the applicant’s capacity to answer the question, organization of their essay, unity and cohesion of thoughts, grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, etc.

 

All applicants will be notified of the scholarship winners by Rams for Life in June.

 

TERMS:

​All essays submitted become the property Rams for Life. Successful essays may be published by Rams for Life and may be, along with information about the winners, shared widely through Rams for Life websites, media, and other publications.
